In my hotel room in Austin. She was on some news program and I was like ohh, Cool! But sadly I didn't have any means in Austin at the time to dig deeper and learn more so when I got home it remained in the back of my mind... Then I saw her on the Con dvd with Tegan and Sara and decided to type her name into my Zune marketplace to see if she had any of her own stuff and viola! Same thing with most bands I like now really. I find out about them or see a music video but forget about it to only come back to it a year later or something! Rolling Eyes

Mine was very similar to the above. I'm pretty sure Fate itself wanted me to fall in love with Kaki's music. A friend I used to have who I barely talked to then anyway talked to me online the day after he saw Kaki perform Close Your Eyes & You'll Burst Into Flames on Conan. He was very adamant that I listen to anything of hers, so I downloaded the only song I could find (at the time) which was Everybody Loves You. I really liked the song, but since I couldn't find anything else, her name fell away from my mind. Then, this year just days before the release of Dreaming of Revenge, Kaki's video for Pull Me Out Alive was on youtube's front page. I remembered her name and her amazing guitar skills and watched the video. I absolutely loved the song and was floored at the direction her musical career had evidently traversed since I first heard her. As quickly as I could, I got all 4 of her albums and listened to nothing else for weeks. And, I guess, I still barely listen to much else at times...
