New album - Junior

i really wanted to hold back and not say anything until the record comes out. i don't want to seem like im being mean or anything but i have to say something about the new material that she's shown us. i said this to a friend on facebook yesterday: i heard it just now, and i have very mixed feelings about it. kinda ambivalent. it's definitely different, not bad, but this new record is not as compositionally intriguing as say something like 'doing the wrong thing' or 'can anyone who has heard this music really be a bad person?'. I think her straightforward songs sell her short of some things she has such a knack for. well, i'll wait for the new record to finally see what i think of it.

i feel the same way, eric...i hate saying that i dislike a kaki king song, but i mean, honestly, sunnyside...not really a good song. i really want 'junior' to be good, but i feel like it might be a disappointment. kind of like 'sainthood'....but anyway, i'm still excited that she's making new stuff

Sometimes the correlation between Kaki & Tegan and Sara fans amuses me so! All my friends who like new Kaki material, also happened to really liked Sainthood!

Overall, I think the new album sound sounds like a combination of the last two releases (Dreaming of revenge & Mexican teenagers)

Ooooo, I am totally liking "Falling Day"!

But yeah, I understand why people may be ambivalent about it. It's alright, dudes, don't feel bad!

Anyway, can't wait to hear the whole album!

Oh, and the album comes just in time for my birthday! I'm hoping to see her here in Brooklyn in April as well.

the japenese edition has a region 2 dvd, so that won't play anywhere other than japan and europe.
